wireless network settings with Wicd in linux

wireless network settings with Wicd in linux

This application can replace the Gnome-Network Manager that in fact is not can I use to manage network.

Wicd is an open source wired and wireless network manager for the Linux operating system. Apliaksi is not fixed on GNOME or KDE desktop. The program is running smoothly in Ubuntu, Fedora and Arch Linux. This application also provides solid support for WEP, WPA and WPA2. And unlike network-manager, you must select WPA Supplicant driver, rather than relying on automation WEXT.

To be more easy, we just login with root previlege:
# Sudo su
until the prompt changes to #

Installasinya need for additional source list (/ etc / apt / sources.list):
# Echo "deb http://apt.wicd.net hardy extras">> / etc / apt / sources.list
# Wget-q http://apt.wicd.net/wicd.gpg-O-| sudo apt-key add --

Update Source List who has added this:
# Apt-get update

Then do the installation with the command:
# Apt-get install Wicd

WCID can be accessed on the Application> Internet> Wicd
